Good Riddance Natural Insect Repellent

I grew up in an era when products such as Aerogard were all that was available to ward off flies, mosquitoes and other midgies. Needless to say, this is not something that you want on your skin if you are at all concerned about the effects of DEET. It is said to be safe if applied as directed and adverse reactions are said to be rare; however, it is not clear over what period the safety studies were conducted. Something applied to your skin today and applied often may not produce a noticeable effect until a number of years later. And for an ingredient which is safe, it carries a rather troubling Warning label telling you.
May be dangerous, particularly to children, if you use large amounts on the skin, clothes or bedding or on large areas of the body, especially if you keep using it for a long time. PRECAUTIONS KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Flammable until dry. Do not store or use near naked flame. Keep away from eyes and mouth. Avoid contact with spectacle frames, other plastics, leather and synthetic fabrics
Other than that, though, it is safe!?
So what other options are there?
The Good Riddance brand of insect repellents are based on natural essential oils. They were developed and tested in tropical Darwin. The people responsible for it trialled 37 different formulas until they found one that was safe, effective, long lasting and smelt wonderful. It certainly does not smell like you would expect. It is extremely pleasant for humans but, thankfully, incredibly off-putting for mosquitoes, flies, etc. Best of all it is Australian made and owned. (Yeah, I know, so was Aerogard – but this is far superior!)
We have both the Tropical Insect Repellent and the Sensitive Skin Insect Repellent available here.
So, replace the Aerogard with Good Riddance and have a good weekend.
